Growing up in the diaspora, I was always searching for ways to feel closer to my homeland, Armenia.

There were always books about Armenia in our home, filled with history and facts, but I longed for something different, something I could leave on my coffee table, open at any moment, and feel transported home.

I imagined a book filled with light, color, and life. A book that felt like walking through Yerevan, standing before ancient monasteries, and watching the sun set behind Mount Ararat.

Something that didn’t just tell Armenia’s story. Something that made you feel it.

I searched for that book.

It didn’t exist.

So I decided to create it.

I kept searching for something that would make me feel closer to home.

I was searching for something that would ease the կարոտ I carried for my homeland, a feeling of longing that's difficult to put into words.

I found remarkable books filled with history and facts, but none gave me the feeling I had been looking for. They taught me about my country, but they never made me feel like I was there.

That’s when I realized the book I had been searching for simply didn’t exist.

I wanted to create something different, a book you could open and instantly feel transported into Armenia.

What began as a personal longing slowly became a much larger vision: to create the book I had always wished existed.

I spent every day building this vision, connecting with photographers, museums and institutions across the world to bring every page together.

What began as an idea had become years of research, design, photography, and collaboration.

I wanted people to discover the Armenia most people have never learned about.

The world’s first Christian nation, one of the oldest civilizations, the birthplace of winemaking, and a culture far deeper than many realize.

I created this for Armenians longing to reconnect with home, for younger generations learning their roots, and for anyone discovering one of the world’s richest culture for the first time.

My hope is that every time the book is opened, Armenia feels a little closer.
